The Modern Homemaker

At my job, I get to come into people's homes and try to make a difference.

While I teach the parents a lot about the frequency of behaviors and how to increase/decrease them, they teach me a lot about family life.

Today I am talking about the Mom of a miss JDL (as he will be known on the web). I see her three days a week.

She always looks beautiful and well put together. You can tell she has straightened her hair, she wears cute skirts most the time and little one inch heel cute shoes.

Her house is pretty clean and dinner is always cooking while I am there. Typically she is helping her other son with his homework during her session.

I think she is amazing.

PS. I am mourning the fact that I am not in Vegas right now with some friends from high school. I ended up cancelling because my work situation/ability to get off work for vacation changed when I got sick and missed a few days. Vegas really isn't my favorite place to go, but I am missing bonding time with them and sad about it.

One of those Mornings

ooooooooooooh, being tired just does you in.

Yesterday, I didn't wake up until 6:30am. (which could appear early, but in the world of Francine on a Monday is not)

YIKES!! Oscar and I both slept in. I ask Oscar when he has to go to school, he says now. Then says 15 min. will work.

We get ready, I scramble together some food for the day. Leftover chicken, oatmeal and bananas. (ugh)

Drop Oscar off at school, go to work, come home around 6:15pm and am tired, blah. Who wants to do anything when you are tired? Oscar gets home from school around 6:30pm, takes the car and goes to work. After he goes to work, he works out.

I search the internet for how to make a meal from the few morsels of food we have in our house: Canned Tuna, Potatoes, Onions and Tortillas - then remember we have rice and a can of refried beans and taquitos.

I make some potato tacos, gussy up the can of refried beans with onions, tomato and garlic, make some rice and heat up those horrid pre-made taquitos.

I also made a dish for today called Potunas (like potato boats with tuna, sour cream, mayo filling) * I got to experiment with celery salt which is unusual.

Oscar gets home, puts on an episode of Law and Order: SVU, we eat our yummy food and drink soymilk in wine glasses (Oscar had two midterms yesterday and we HAD to celebrate even though we were out of wine or sparkling cider or anything else for that matter)

Oscar tells me this is the best meal he has had in a long time. I amazingly, have to agree - those potato tacos were delicious!!

Oscar decides its time to go to bed, we get ready for bed, have a bit of romance, then I read a book for a few minutes before falling asleep. And then I wake up this morning tired.

It's so much easier to get stuff done when you have energy. But, somehow I will def. survive. :)

I think this Tuesday will be a wonderful day.

*****Oh an due to my new and busier schedule, which I really am loving despite my complaints, I am not getting much done on any of my online money making ventures and that does make me sad. But, I will survive that too. :)
