Too Much Money

soooooooooooooo tired. but happy happy happy. :)

Oscar gave me another birthday gift and really he is spending too much money on me (and its not like I NEED the present)

But, I guess that is where receiving graciously comes in and the thought being what counts.

it does. it does. it does.

I appreciate so much that he values me and wants to show me how much he cares through his gifts.

oooh and he bought me a GPS for my car. That is my knight in shining armor. LOVE THAT GUY!! he also trained me today on a nearby track.

I think I am buying myself some flowers on my birthday and maybe balloons too. In the past my work has always done something, but I don't think its happening this time, so I'll celebrate myself.

I feel like I'm turning 25, but nope. 24. 24. 24.

A wonderful year it will be.

You can probably tell I'm tired by how my words are coming out.

GOODNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadist?

On another note....

Last night, Oscar was up late studying and decides to wake me up to see if I want to watch a show with him before he goes to sleep.

The way he wakes me up is by saying in a serious tone, "Francine. There is a fire." I jump out of bed, my heart racing, thinking about where it is, what to do, what to grab. And then he starts chortling and says, "You got up so fast."

He is obviously playing a joke on me. Well, I got mad at him. (this is something he has done before in different variations). I took him seriously and my body is pumped with adrenaline and ready for "fight or flight." I felt my body become super alert and then try to relax itself unsuccessfully. You know the saying, "my heart jumped out of my chest" well, that's really how it felt.

My ABA response is that I need to give him more attention before he does something like this. It is obviously attention seeking behavior (even if negative attention). And when I am mad at him after, it will only increase the frequency of the behavior in the future.

How would you react? Would you be able to laugh it off?

**PS, I am aware that the best thing to do would have been to laugh it off, playfully tell him he scared me and give him a little swat. Maybe that is the goal for next time.

Anyways, as it is the morning after, I need to forgive him and move on. There is a beautiful new day ahead.

Keeping House

So, yesterday was a neat day at work. I got acknowledgement from my Supervisor and a different supervisor which made me feel really motivated.

What I'm blogging about today, however, is a conversation that was had.

OLD SUP: I wish I could come over to your house.
FRANCINE: (explaining to new SUP) My husband's a personal trainer.

FRANCINE: But, really, he is a busy guy, so he writes out workouts for me, but rarely gets to train me one on one. Plus, I don't pay, so it's less reinforcing for him to train me than his paying customers.
NEW SUP: Oh, I'm sure you pay him in your own ways: cooking and cleaning the house.
FRANCINE: Sometimes. :)

(all the ladies laugh)

OLD SUP: I'm sure you do a great job, Francine.
FRANCINE: We're a good match.

:::::::::::: end scene ::::::::::::::::::::::

ok, so we are a great match and I do only sometimes do a good job at keeping house. I was completely honest in a socially acceptable way.

It's not really appropriate to say, "No, REALLY, I am so tired when I get home at the end of the day that I don't do everything I should." or "when I wake up in the morning, I am often selfish and lazy." or even "He really helps out with a lot of the cooking and cleaning" Well, maybe that last one is socially acceptable.

Bottom line is that I need to do a better job in this area.

Horsham, PA

I am restarting a chapter from my former life. It is called field hockey!!

And my stick is en route to HOME from Horsham, PA.

I am excited and nervous.
I thought it would be fun to do a little search on me & field hockey to see what remnants the internet holds of my past adventure into sports.

I found.....

the name of my team members and our GPA's (I'm not sure if it's correct, but ok by me)
SAN MARCOS: Jessica Ernest, Jr., 4.00; Torrey Gargas, Sr., 3.20; Melissa Getzinger, Sr., 3.75; Jessica Hix, Jr., 3.50; Francine Johnson, Jr., 4.50; Linsey Kephart, Sr., 3.57; Natasha McGarry, Sr., 4.00; Meghan McMurtry, Sr., 4.17; Lauren O'Donnell, Sr., 4.33; Nicole Ott, Sr., 3.67; Jenny Powell, Jr., 3.86; Amie Price, Sr., 4.00; Corey Price, Jr., 3.67; Natalie Red-Fearn, Sr., 4.20; Kristen Tuba, Jr., 3.67; Maria Woodson, Sr., 3.67.

San Marcos Knights Field Hockey Results 2004
I was the top Goal Scorer with 9 goals
And tied with Leishelle Landolt as the top "assister" with 5 assists

Awww, I am proud of the HS me. Now, as an adult who hasn't played field hockey in 5 years, it should be interesting to see how I do. I have no idea of the skill level of the other players, it should be really interesting. AND, I have not trained or worked out in quite a while, so my guess is this will also be a humbling experience.

Anyways, excited!! Horsham, PA - be nice to my new *friend.

*Our first Field hockey coach in Middle School told us our sticks were our "friends" and should not leave our side.

A Kiss and a Hug

Quite a while ago, I made a rule in our home that before leaving the house/car/whatever we need to make sure to give each other a kiss and a hug.

SIDE NOTE: I told this to a friend and she said, "oooh, I think we do that anyways" lol. So that humbled me, but we did not always do it.

Anyways, sometimes we argue when I drop Oscar off somewhere. Just telling the truth, it happens. And Oscar will be soooo mad he does what hurts the most (right?) and doesn't give me my kiss and hug. So then, I honk the horn, he turns around and I blow him a kiss and we both smile. Later comes a text from one of us apologizing.

Well, I guess we went through a week or so where I was hormonal or something and this happened a lot. Then I just started honking the horn when we were happy too as a cute thing.

Well.... yesterday, I didn't honk the horn, BUT, right on cue, Oscar turned around to look back and I blew him a kiss. SMILE!!!!! These are the things which make married life amazing.

Don't you love being in love?

    Sweet Dreams

Oscar is so cute sometimes. Yes, he's an adult and my sexy hunky husband, but also.....definitely..... cute.

The other morning when I woke him up, he told me he was dreaming that there were some puppies and some big dogs came and were going to kill them.

He then declared that he had to go back to sleep to try to change that. But, of course, he said all this in a sleepy and super cute tone.

He continued to close his eyes and save the puppies, haha. When he woke up (for real) he was his macho self. I forgot to ask him about his dream.

That was on Wednesday our 6 year dating anniversary. Time flies.

    Basil Banana Smoothie

I tried this one this morning and it was yummy.

    2 ripe bananas, peeled, chopped

    10-12 basil leaves

    1/4 cup filtered water

    2 tbsp agave nectar

Blend all ingredients in a blender until liquefied and smooth.

Serve immediately or chill in the fridge for an hour.

**I chilled it. I like how it tastes, but it def. tastes like basil, it's sweet though. This really doesn't make too much. Not sure, I would recommend it, but def. something I will remember and make again and probably again. :)

    Frown Lines

Our generous wife tip of the day:

"I have two "wrinkle lines" between my eyebrows (I frown when I concentrate). One day I caught a glimpse of myself when I was sporting these lines. I looked absolutely cranky. Now, mind you, I was having a rather pleasant day, but I still looked very much like I was feeling cranky.

My tip for today is to pay attention to your face. Is it sporting the emotion you want it to? Do you smile at your husband or look pleasant when you mean to? It takes a bit of awareness, but it's worth the effort to communicate to your spouse (and others) that they are loved and special (rather than just annoying you on a very cranky day).

We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do. Mother Teresa

    Be generous! Lori "

Ok, so, the picture above made me laugh. She has an AMAZING frown face!! But, on another note, I noticed I have some wrinkles. That is right, at 23! Oscar turned 24 a couple days ago and I just feel like 24 is a whole new category. No longer young 20's and yes, I have to be ok with getting older and give myself the talk all over again. I want to wear my age proudly, whether I am 24 or 64. Life is impermanent and I have to LIVE that.

**ooh and my wrinkles are tiny. While driving I took up a close up picture of my eye an ther were some crinkle lines around the edge. I've always known I would have wrinkles and hopefully lots of them. I don't want to be someone who wants to be young forever.

Just, yes, moving on up!! No longer 18 and HAPPY about that!!
